Reproduction, Inheritance and Variation

Do BOTH of the following sections:

 

Section A  

Draw a cartoon strip that explains reproduction and inheritance (how an egg is fetilised and develops into a baby).  Label or annotate you pictures to explain what you have drawn.

You must include the following information:

  1. The sperm and egg – where they come from and where do they meet.
  2. Fertilisation – what happens when the sperm reach the egg?
  3. Foetal development - where does the fertilised egg implant, how is the baby protected and supplied with oxygen and nutrients (role of the placenta and amnion).
  4. Birth – how is the baby born?
  5. Inheritance – does the baby look exactly like its parents? If not, why not?
